Life's struggles do produce roses!

There's no doubt in my mind, the struggles of this life are real. However, among those proverbial "thorns" there's always a rose. Sometimes we don't stop long enough to smell its fragrance so we don't realize it's there. That's something I've definitely learned throughout this week. Sunday night I went to bed having felt betrayed by my rat as he'd gotten nippy with me. Monday morning I woke up to find him cold and sick. After holding him for a bit, I placed him back into his cage only to have to bury him later that day. I was angry. I was hurt. I spent the day wondering why I couldn't have anything in this life that I really wanted. Today I meet my new skinny pig, something I've wanted for years now but could never have. New Monday... New Week... New Goals... New Help From God...

I've been up since 7 something this morning again. I don't know why I keep waking up so early but it does help me get more done throughout the day. I just wish that I'd go to bed earlier so I can get the sleep I need. Nonetheless, I got a routine down for the morning and night anymore. I get my "chores" like laundry and dishes done, prayer, journaling, Bible, and even play my favorite game a bit before getting into the heart of my day until about 12:30 then come back and finish up some stuff online around 8 and done by 10 usually. So, why can't I sleep earlier? I guess that's something I need to work on. I honestly can't believe that I only have 3 days until vacation! Yes, I've been counting for over a month now simply to keep my sanity. I know so many people would go crazy doing this but it's honestly the only thing helping me keep my sanity. Now when I get back I'll have to start another countdown for 41 days until I get my sanity b...

Being a Work in Progress

This is the PERFECT description of my life... I seemingly never know whether I'm coming or going and what point A or point B even is, I'm just so confused. All I know is I'm a work in progress! I think that in a way, every one of us is. As Christians God is continually working on us... He is the potter and we are His clay. To say that this is perfect or ideal in any way is a joke though. I'm the type that wants to know now what is going to happen a year from now. I think this is partially because I've been given the gift of prophecy and while I can (and do) help so many people, I never seem to be truly able to help myself. Instead, I keep running and chasing my own tail, to the point I get exhausted because everything is seemingly spinning out of control. Between being a single Mom who has a few different ministries going on, is in seminary, and is homeschooling a teen daughter, I push myself to keep going... probably way more than I should.
